Since 2020, Matteo has pursued an ongoing research partnership with Dr. Himadri Mukherjee, applying rigorous technical expertise in computer science to questions at the intersection of sound, cognition, and technology. That collaboration has produced twelve peer-reviewed publications — seven of them published in leading IEEE and Springer venues, with the remainder accepted, in press, or under review — spanning music cognition, automated composition, human-computer interaction, and audio technology.
